North Shore Music is not your usual music instruction school. You are in the driver’s seat for the type of music you want to pursue.

Whether your goal is to learn to sing or play in a band just for “fun” or your ambition is to get ready for the recording studio or that next gig. That’s what we are here for.
We promise that you will never be forced to learn from “traditional music books.” Our instructors are experienced players who are eager to get you playing songs that you want to play quickly!
Online Or In-Person Lessons Available
Private singing or voice lessons and songwriting from a professional voice coach are available online. These are scheduled live lessons from a coach who played on the road for years and has recording studio experience
What We Do
Do you just want to build some confidence to sing or accompany yourself at that next campfire or party? We do that.
Need to get your band performance ready or just improve your overall performance? We will help you with microphone technique, arrangements, song selection, or anything else you need assistance with. We can even assist you with your original songs!
Want to be in a band or a vocal group but don’t have your own players? We will do our best to connect you with other musicians with similar tastes and aptitudes.
It doesn’t matter whether you want to learn to sing along with your favourite songs, become a karaoke star, sing in a basement band, or are professional musician, if you want to improve your performance then you have come to the right place!
The Instructors
At North Shore Music you will be working with Dave Perry, former owner of The Vocal Studio in Oshawa or Dave Curran who plays guitar for The Shore.
Dave Perry has been a professional musician for many years. He was the frontman for several bands over the years that played in bars and hotels across Canada. Dave also plays drums and keyboards, writes and assists students with writing and arranging their original songs. He was the manager for the band program at The Music Lesson Place in Oshawa before he opened his own studio.

Dave has assisted students to prepare for the recording studio. He has had students that were selected to sing at the Skydome and Air Canada Center.
Students have won local karaoke contests (the prize was studio time and radio airplay). One student even made the top 10 of Canadian Idol, while another was selected to be a contestant in the TV show Rock Star Super Nova! See student accomplishments.
Dave Curran is a man of many talents. He is the guitar player for The Shore Things the house band at North Shore Music. Dave is the owner of the property that houses North Shore Music.
Dave Curran teaches electric and acoustic guitar, how to lift songs and chart them in most musical styles.
Dave has built two homes on the north shore of Hay Bay with a large “barn” where the studio is located. Kelly’s Costumes is also located in the barn. Dave also built a cabana right on the water that is used for North Shore Music student bands to perform for their friends and families.
Location
The North Shore Music Studio is located on the north shore of Hay Bay in Greater Napanee. This is where all private, band, group lessons, and coaching will be held.
